During Christmas and Easter, YMCA Lviv provides baskets to families, filled with goods and supplies tailored to the season. These baskets are particularly meaningful for families with children, offering a sense of comfort and normalcy amidst the turmoil of their daily lives. The contents of these baskets range from festive treats to essential aid items, and help bring joy and relief to families struggling with the hardships of war. By addressing immediate needs and providing a small sense of relief through holiday spirit, YMCA Lviv aims to support the emotional well-being of these families during the holiday season.
“It is my own car. It’s our kapelan. And you can see the Easter bread. And all these boxes inside is the traditional Easter bread. And it was before Easter, when were going the front line. And our kapelan wanted to To bless it. And it was so… I don’t cry very often, but I was crying at that moment because it was so strange for me. (…) the guys- they have to stay with their family at that moment, but I stayed here under the rain and waiting when [he] blessed this bread and [had to] go to the front line. It was so… so unnormal.“
